Where the mainstream ends, loneliness often begins

Away from the mainstream and commercial pressures, the path can be lonely. Artists receive little support when they explore remote paths and overlooked side streets. Colla Parte takes a different route—every time. Always a companion, never a leader. Following one path only: that of the artist we support.

The Foundation

We go colla parte.
With the artist’s voice

“Artistic freedom is the highest principle.”

Just as an orchestra playing colla parte follows the singer’s melody literally, the Foundation accompanies artists according to their own “melody”—their own ideas. A project supported in this way might be a recording, further training, a performance or an educational initiative. What matters is that it is a project close to the artist’s heart and one that would be difficult or impossible to realise commercially.

Artistic freedom is the highest principle. In every collaboration—in which the artist must always take the lead—artistic interests and decisions come first. The result is highly individual, one-of-a-kind work, free from the constraints and requirements of the music business and industry. At the artist’s express request, the Foundation can also contribute to the content, whether by developing a basic concept or by connecting them with additional sources of inspiration.

The only decisive factors are artistic relevance, recognised mastery and the genuine passion of those we support. Economic considerations are immaterial. Here too, the artist should seek, find and follow their own path. The representatives of the Colla Parte Foundation value and cultivate personal contact with the artists they accompany—not only, but especially, while a project is under way.

Every project concludes with a review and evaluation. External measures such as reviews and audience figures are considered, but the primary focus is on the artist’s own impressions and experiences.

The Colla Parte Foundation is structured as a purely operational foundation. Since it invests its budget exclusively in its own projects and activities, it does not accept applications for funding.

Christine Cerletti
Chair of the Board of Trustees

Christine Cerletti

“I use my financially privileged position to support different areas of society. Because I regard culture as an indispensable part of being human, and because of my exceptionally strong connection to music, I founded the Colla Parte Foundation.”

“Promising cultural concepts all too often remain unrealised: financial constraints, economic calculations, a lack of courage. That is why I so value being part of the Colla Parte Foundation, where artistic considerations are the highest principle.”

“Being able to make a practical contribution to cultural life—and especially to music—inspires me time and again. My many years of experience in the foundation sector also help me contribute to the realisation of complex projects.”
