Ludovic Tézier CD Recording

At the heart of this recording is French baritone Ludovic Tézier, performing arias and duets by Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Charles Gounod, Jules Massenet, Jacques Offenbach and other composers. The programme brings together Italian and French operatic repertoire and reveals different facets of Tézier’s artistic profile. The production features four renowned guest artists: René Pape, Jonas Kaufmann, Ermonela Jaho and Cassandre Berthon. Their solo contributions and shared scenes make the recording not only a portrait of one singer, but also a musical dialogue between different voices and operatic traditions. The singers are accompanied by the Morphing Chamber Orchestra under the musical direction of Lorenzo Passerini. The chamber-orchestra forces bring the voices and their individual timbres to the fore. A distinctive feature of the production is its exceptional constellation of performers: some of the most internationally acclaimed opera voices of their generation come together in a programme intended to combine familiar works with less frequently recorded arias and ensembles.
