“At Colla Parte, I contribute my experience in music, literature and cultural mediation to foster artistic quality and new perspectives.”

Hans-Georg Hofmann studied musicology and literature in Halle an der Saale and earned his doctorate at the University of Bern. After working as artistic manager of the Basel Chamber Orchestra, he joined the Basel Symphony Orchestra in 2013, where he served as Artistic Director until 2024. He curated the “Schweizgenössisch” festival at Radialsystem Berlin and was artistic adviser to the Tongyeong International Music Festival in South Korea. From 2014 to 2021 he was President of the KlangBasel festival and a board member of the Zeiträume association. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Colla Parte Foundation since 2019 and, since 2026, on the board of the European Cultural Forum Mainau (EKFM). He has taught at the University of St. Gallen since 2022.
